Press Release: Asian TT Championships – 1st Trails Results

The Table Tennis Association of Sri Lanka conducted its 1st Trials to select the Men and Women team that would compete in the Asian TT Championships in Doha Qatar from 29th September to 9th October 2021. Trials were conducted at S. Thomas College Indoor stadium, Mt. Lavinia.

From the current Men's and Women's ranking list, 8 players each were called for the trials. All players had to play each other in best of five (5) sets.

Following are the Mens results;

  • Senura Silva (Ananda College) won all 7 matches. Senura is the recipient of the Crysbro Sponsorship arranged by the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka.     This is the first competitive outing for the players after the lockdown restrictions were lifted. The TTASL took all COVID related precautionary measures whilst conducting the trials and limited the persons inside the hall to players and limited officials only. Parents, Coaches and spectators were not permitted inside the venue. The second trials will be held on the 31st of July at the same venue.
